More than 20 life-threatening diseases can be prevented by vaccination1

Global immunization efforts have saved an estimated 154 million lives – or the equivalent of 6 lives every minute of every year – over the past 50 years. The vast majority of lives saved – 101 million – were those of infants.2

Vaccines have helped:
  • Eradicate smallpox.3

  • Decreased polio cases by more than 99%.4

  • Measles vaccination averted more than 60 million deaths between 2000 and 2023.5

  • Decrease cases of rubella by 97% between 2000-2022.6

Vaccines have helped:
  • Individuals - Vaccinations can help improve the health and well-being by helping protect against vaccine-preventable diseases which were historically a common cause of death in children.4

  • Communities- Vaccination can help reduce the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases within communities.7

  • Economies- Studies indicate that vaccination can have beneficial efforts on economic growth, productivity and workforce participation.8

What are the precautions to be taken during vaccination in these times?

  • Visit your Pediatrician with a prior Vaccination appointment only.

  • Use an alcohol-based sanitizer at frequent intervals.

  • All caretakers and children, except infants should wear a mask.

  • Maintain social distancing at all times & avoid surface contacts as much as possible.

  • Don’t carry any toys/personal objects and avoid touching door handles.

After-vaccination Care
Two shots, 6 months apart
  • Your doctor will guide you to follow a set of instructions post vaccination. Please follow those instructions carefully.

Additional Tips
Two shots, 6 months apart
  • Read the information on the vaccination thoroughly before you visit your doctor.

  • Plan the vaccination during the weekend so that you can give ample time to your child post the vaccination.

  • Make sure your baby is wearing clothes that have the arms exposed so that you don’t have to remove them during vaccination.

  • If your child is older, explain to them the benefits of vaccination.
